Multiplication is a basic operation in most of the signal processing algorithms. Multipliers have large Area, long latency and consume considerable power. The purpose of a good multiplier is to provide a physically compact, good speed and should consume low power. In this paper speed of the IEEE 754 standard single precision floating point multiplier is increased by using compressors. Because compressors are special kind of adders to add more number of bits at a time. In this paper compressors are used for mantissa calculation. So that speed of the multiplier is increased as compared to the conventional multiplier. It is implemented using Verilog HDL and it is targeted to Xilinx virtex-5 FPGA.Keywords

Distribution system, as the name suggest, is the medium through which power is distributed among the end consumers Distribution systems are comparatively not as stiff as grid systems, so large starting currents and objectionable voltage drop during the starting of an induction motor could be critical for the entire system. Thus STATCOM is an effective solution for power systems facing such power quality problems. This report deals with one of the potential applications of static compensator (STATCOM) to industrial systems for mitigation of voltage dip problem. The dip in voltage is generally encountered during the starting of an induction motor. The model of STATCOM connected in shunt configuration to a three phase source feeding dynamic motor loads is developed using Simulink of MATLAB software. Simulated results demonstrate that STATCOM can be considered as a viable solution for solving such voltage dip problems. This thesis work aims at developing a STATCOM for induction machines with reduced voltage dip. Keywords

Backing-out and heading-out manoeuvres in perpendicular or angle parking lots are one of the most dangerous manoeuvres, specially in cases where side parked cars block the driver view of gray scale camera was installed at the back-right side of a vehicle. A Finite State Machine (FSM) defined according to three CAN Bus the potential traffic flow. In this paper a new vision-based Advanced Driver Assistance System (ADAS) is proposed to automatically warn the driver in such scenarios. A monocular variables and a manual signal provided by the user is used to handle the activation/deactivation of the detection module. The proposed oncoming traffic detection module uses Digital Image Processing as the field by MATLAB which computes spatiotemporal images from a set of pre-defined Scan-lines which are related to the position of the road. A novel spatio-temporal motion descriptor is proposed (STHOL) accounting for the number of lines, their orientation and length of the spatio-temporal images. Some parameters of the proposed descriptor are adapted for night time conditions. A Bayesian framework is then used to trigger the warning signal using multivariate normal density functions. Experiments are conducted on image data captured from a vehicle parked at different locations of an urban environment, including both daytime and night time lighting conditions. We demonstrate that the proposed approach provides robust results maintaining processing rates close to real time.

This paper presents a design of efficient smart jammer to jam the 4G signals, specifically band 3 and band 40 which can be predominantly used in India. The MATLAB Simulink tool was used for the analysis of the circuit design. Simulink, an advanced tool gives accurate results comparable to real time analysis. The DSP toolbox of the Simulink library has been largely used to construct and view the results of the model. The main objective of this paper is to receive the LTE signals, filter band 3 and band 40, add noise and increase the amplitude of the signal. The uniqueness of this design is the use of full wave rectifier in the circuit and the trigger enabled blocks. Full wave rectifier with added circuitry acts as a trigger to the jammer which contains the noise block and the gain block. Sine wave generators were used to replicate real time signals and additional signals were added as noise. The advantage of the design is when none of the bands are detected; the output will not be generated, thus saving power. The incorporation of the detector circuit and trigger circuit ensures that power is not wasted by the jamming circuit when there signal is not detected. These jammers can be used in examination halls, conference halls and in secure location where telecommunication signals are unwanted. Keywords

Target detection and localization is an active research area due to its importance in a wide range of application such as biomedical and military applications. In this paper, a novel method for the detection and estimation of signal parameters such as range and direction of arrival for multiple far- field target using wideband echo chirp signals is proposed. Sonar and radar are the active detection systems transmit well defined signals into a region of interest. A model preprocessing procedure is designed for the echo signal. The parameters estimation method for multiple targets is developed based on the Linear Canonical transform and the Fast Root MUSIC algorithm which is a high resolution DOA estimation method originally proposed for any arbitrary arrays to reduce the computational complexity in existing systems. The proposed method provides high accuracy of detection and resolution even in very low SNR values. Keywords

Venous thromboembolism is a common and serious complication among hospitalised patients.VTE incidence increases the hospital stay and thus the cost of treatment. Staff nurses play an important role in the risk assessment, prophylaxis and prevention of VTE. Their knowledge on VTE largely influences the successful VTE prevention programme. The aim of the study was to assess the effect of a dash board teaching programme on the risk assessment compliance among staff nurses. A retrospective audit of in-service department files was conducted to assess the intervention and outcome measures. The audit included the laptop assisted teaching, post-test knowledge of nurses on VTE and their compliance on VTE assessment. The approach was descriptive. The instruments used were a 10 item knowledge questionnaire and a 24 item VTE risk assessment tool. Descriptive and inferential statistical methods were used for data analysis. The result showed that the knowledge of staff nurses and risk assessment compliance was good. There was a positive correlation between compliance and knowledge among staff nurses. Keywords

A mobile ad hoc network (MANET) is a self-configuring infrastructure less network of mobile devices connected by wireless.A protocol manages group membership and controls the path that multicast data takes over the network. Examples of multicast routing protocols include Protocol Independent Multicast (PIM). There are lots of multicast routing protocols, some works with wired networks while the others with wireless networks, some protocols deals with both wired and wireless networks. But applying this concept in Mobile Ad Hoc networks (Manets) is a big challenge. The main aim of this paper is to explore the performance characteristics of multicast protocols. Keywords

The level of cleanliness is very much important in the country. Due to poor garbage monitoring system, we see the garbage bins being overloaded and spills out from the bins causing pollution. To overcome this problem essentially, this project is designed which is about collecting the most amount of materials in the short period which is also cost efficient[1]. The project is designed in such a manner that it is supposed to work with all type of bins which contain any type of waste materials which may be mixed materials like papers, glass, metals and fluids[5]. This project also includes grinding system. When the blade rotates, it breaks waste materials into small powdery particles, so that large amount of wastes can be dumped in the bin and also it will be a time efficient[3]. This process have a fully functioning IoT prototype, project design also consists of ultrasonic sensor for detecting whether the bin is filled with waste or not and arduino for transfer of data[6].

A graphical password system is based on cued click point. In this scheme contains a cued-recall graphical password technique. Users Click on one pixel per image for a sequence of images. The second image is based on the previous pixel. Compared with other graphical password methods performance and accuracy was very good in terms of speed. Users preferred pixel point to passed click Points. It is easy to remembering only one pixel for one image. Here each picture triggered their memory of where the corresponding pixel was located. Cued Click Point also provides higher security than Pass Points because it increases the workload for attackers. Keywords

The SGML is not supporting in web browsers, to avoid this problem SGML content is converted into HTML. The biggest barrier is reuse, interchange and automation. Several computers are having the in unsupported formats. That is the case exchanging data between the two systems is the longest process for web developers. Most of the time a very wide amount of data must be lost due to unsupported file format. The XML is the highly efficient derived from SGML. The main goal of XML is to specifying SGML elements are supported in web browsers then it is easy to publish SGML content on the web. Keywords
